Lettuce Help Fred Donate to the Ballard Food Bank!
Are you looking for an easy way to help your neighbors? Gardener Fred has worked tirelessly to grow food to donate to the Ballard Food Bank. Fred grew almost 1,800 pounds of fresh food and then delivered it via bike to the food bank.
Fred is full of information, wonderful stories, and is making Crown Hill greener and more delicious. In 2022, Fred and his team grew and donated over 3,000 pounds to the food bank. This past spring, the community garden lost their primary garden plot and we thought that food donation program was doomed for the year. Fred worked tirelessly in garden beds of neighbors, at the Holman Grove, and a plot near Whitman Middle School and managed to still grow and donate a lot of food!
Help him hit 2,000 pounds!
