Meet our 2025 Crown Hill-O-Ween Grand Marshal! Named for a character in a silent film, Grand Marshal Letty is not so silent herself. Seen here in her Draculetty costume, Letty is a 10-year-old German Shepherd mix who adores dressing to kill, almost as much as she loves snatching up a tasty bite of chicken. As charming as she is outgoing, Letty loves to do tricks for treats, which makes her an outstanding spokespet for the Hill-O-Ween set. A big dog heart in a compact little body, Letty loves to meet new people and embark on new [...]

Last year, pets large and small strutted their costumes around Crown Hill Park while neighbors looked on and cheered. We met the Great and Terrible Pumpkin, we dined on Scooby Dogs, and swooned at the outstanding costumes that our crafty Crown Hill pets were sporting. Check out some fun from years past on our Instagram page! This year, we'll be hosting a [...]

Fred Miller: peace activist, gardener, sailor, avid bicyclist, and storyteller. Fred was a leader of the Seattle Peace movement. Maybe you caught his street performance as Major Warren D. Struction back in the day. Fred was a long time member of From Hiroshima to Hope and helped make the annual Aug 6 lantern floating ceremony happen. On Sundays, you would find Fred on the water with the Center for Wooden Boats. The rest of the week, Fred led the Crown Hill Community Garden to grow and donate thousands of pounds of food to [...]
