The project to update the Soundview fields is finally under way. The project signs were up for years with no sign of movement until eventually the signs were removed and the project forgotten. Until Monday afternoon when neighbors were surprised by the entire (enormous) field being fenced off.

The parking lots and the upper field are all still open and accessible, but the access is very limited. The tennis courts are open and the playground is accessible. According to the city wading pool schedule this will not affect our wading pool opening the end of June.

The upgrades will include lighting, ADA accessibility and a state-of-the-art synthetic turf field. Soundview is not the fanciest park in Seattle but it is a special place with expansive green space. You can get all the details about it’s transformation here.
