Saturday Garden Work Party – At The Grove!
Holman Grove Mary Ave NW & 90th StAfter years of planning and waiting and cutting red tape - we are finally ready to install the planters at the corner of 90th and Mary Ave NW. Join the Crown Hill Community gardeners and learn more about the Holman Grove. Drop by and help us fill the planters! All the food grown in the community garden is for passers by, with the bulk of it donated to the Ballard Food Bank. This year's goal is 3000 pounds! Holman Grove Mary Ave NW & 90th StWork Party & Seed Exchange! Holman Grove is currently a scrappy little triangle of grass with some plants, tended by a couple of volunteer neighbors, next to a busy commercial road surrounded by strip malls. With your help we will plant more plants, get rid of invasive species, and spread around some wood chips. Lend a hand, and pick up some ground cover seeds to start your winter garden! Build a Birdhouse!
Crown Hill Community Garden 9000 Holman Road, Seattle, WABirdhouse Day! Art for your garden, and a home for a bird. Build a birdhouse for chickadees, wrens, and other small birds (or maybe bumble bees). Mount your birdhouse in your yard or in your favorite tree. Last year, we had several broods raised in the Crown Hill made birdhouses. You bring the kids, the Crown Hill Community Garden will have the tools and supplies!
