Holman Road Overpass Mural

Holman Road Mural Project The Crown Hill Village Association (CHV) is working to create a vibrant cultural, economic, and social hub in the heart of the neighborhood. We are looking to hire an artist to design a mural for the underside of the Holman Road overpass, and perhaps incorporate the stairs and deck of the overpass. The overpass is a focal point and a perfect location to celebrate the neighborhood, their past work to encourage smart growth, and their future as a growing community. Coffee and Preparing for Disaster

Categories: Business, Events, Residents|

Coffee and Disaster (Preparedness) "Is the city ready to respond to a disaster?" one neighbor asked. Carl, a representative of Seattle's Office of Emergency Management and Crown Hill neighbor, assured the group that The City has an extensive disaster management plan. Before the group completed their sigh of relief, Carl went on to explain why, even with that all of that planning, neighbors will need to depend on each other in the first days after a major earthquake. Not exactly the conversation you'd expect on a mild and sunny Saturday - but a very important one. In [...]

Phil Scroggs: Graphic Designer, illustrator, and the brains behind Crown Hill Village Instagram. Solopreneur: at Phillustrations since 2002. Worked From Home before it was cool: Telecommuting made it possible to relocate to Seattle while still working full-time for an Atlanta web design team. Then, the 2001 tech crash was a sign to do my own thing. Simply hustling: Cold calling, e-mailing, asking people for referrals - it worked. I found new clients. I have to keep at it though, you gotta keep going. [...]
