Crown Hill Neighborhood Heart Crown Hill is full of neighbors and small businesses working to create a connected community. One challenge is that the center of our neighborhood is Holman Road, which feels more like a separating corridor. Creating a place for neighbors to connect and small businesses to grow is a priority. Crown Hill Neighborhood Plan Workshop #3 City brings neighborhood planning to Crown Hill Workshop #3 is scheduled for Sunday, June 23rd. Stop by and tell the city what is important to you as our neighborhood grows. The workshop will be in the empty space on the bottom of the Parla apartments from 12:30 - 2:30. Neighbors + Business
Neighbors + Business = Village Crown Hill Neighbors Association and Crown Hill Business Association are joining forces to create a single organization working to create an engaged and connected community. After years of working together in the neighborhood, the two associations decided to maximize their impact by creating a new organization that would be an umbrella for all the work happening in the community. The new board includes representatives from business owners, neighbors, and business owning neighbors.

Crown Hill Urban Village Upzoned The city council voted unanimously to pass the Crown Hill Village upzone. When Crown Hill was first identified for upzoning, a group of committed neighbors came together to connect the community to the city process. The Crown Hill Urban Village Committee for Smart Growth worked tirelessly to create a seat at the table. They attended focus groups, surveyed the neighborhood, reached out to the city council, educated and supported neighbors to speak at city council meets, and spent countless hours themselves attending council meetings. CHUV Committee for Smart Growth The April Crown Hill Village board meeting included a conversation with the people who powered the Crown Hill Urban Village Committee for Smart Growth. They briefed the board on their work over the past four years attending HALA focus groups, speaking at city council meetings, building relationships with the city, and connecting the neighborhood to the upzone process. The group, started as a subcommittee of the Crown Hill Neighborhood Association, had representatives of all the neighborhoods (Crown Hill, Greenwood, Whittier Heights, and Loyal Heights) that have a stake in the Crown Hill Urban Village. New Name Chosen
We have a new Name! The new board wanted a name that exemplified the idea that the organization will represent both residents and businesses. Names discussed included neighborhood and community, but when the name village was suggested the whole room lit up. The Crown Hill Village - working for everybody who lives, works, and plays in the neighborhood.
